The Young Scientist Award 2025 – Calling for Applications
The Young Scientists Forum (YSF) of the National Science and Technology Commission (NASTEC) presents the Young Scientist (YS) Award to the best young scientists of Sri Lanka each year with the objective of encouraging young scientists in the country to engage in demand-driven research & innovation, and to offer recognition and appreciation for outstanding young scientists who contribute for the development of Science and Technology in the country. The YS Award is presented in two categories;
- ‘Young Scientist Award for Research’
- ‘Young Scientist Award for Technology’
NASTEC calls applications for the Young Scientist Award for Research and Young Scientist Award for Technology for 2025. The most outstanding young scientist in relevant field will be selected from the applicants and will be awarded a cash prize and a certificate. Moreover, the previous year awardees will be invited as the Keynote speakers for each upcoming YSF Research Symposium.

Please refer the eligibility criteria for the YS Award for Research included in the application in below link and send your filled application (including the self-evaluation), with relevant evidence documents to “Acting Director, National Science and Technology Commission, 6th Floor, Wing D, Sethsiripaya Stage II, Battaramulla” and upload scanned copies to google form link https://forms.gle/2kUJ2e5EDad8SJhk9. Deadline for submitting applications for the Young Scientist Award for Research is 31st October 2025. Please indicate “Young Scientist Award for Research 2025” at the top left corner of the envelope.
