YSF Webinar on ‘Microplastics in the Ecosphere: Extraction and Identification Techniques’
The 1st Webinar of a series of online knowledge sharing sessions organized by the Young Scientists Forum (YSF) of the National Science and Technology Commission (NASTEC) for the third consecutive year of 2023, was held on 21st June 2023 in collaboration with the Ecosphere Resilience Research Centre, Faculty of Applied Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura. The webinar was focused on ‘Microplastics in the Ecosphere: Extraction and Identification Techniques’ and Prof. Meththika Vithanage, Professor of the Ecosphere Resilience Research Centre, Faculty of Applied Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, addressed the online audience as the guest speaker and resource person giving participants an overview of microplastics’ presence in the ecosphere, fates and identification techniques. Dr. Anushka U. Rajapaksha, Senior Lecturer of University of Sri Jayewardenepura coordinated and moderated the session. The webinar concluded successfully after a Q&A session and more than 100 participants joined the session.
