[Updated] - International Workshop on "Combating Plastic Pollution in Terrestrial Environment", March 14-15, 2023

National Science and Technology Commission (NASTEC) is the focal point of the Center for Science and Technology of Non-Aligned and other Developing Countries (NAM S&T Center), India. NASTEC provides training opportunities for the scientists and technologists in Sri Lanka with the respective announcement released by the NAM S&T Centre to its member countries.

The NAM S&T Center has forwarded an announcement on International Workshop on "Combating Plastic Pollution in Terrestrial Environment", March 14-15, 2023 and invites applications for the same from scientists, technologists, researchers, academicians, industry people and policy makers working in the in the field of environment, health, water management, social issues, technology and any related areas. The event will be conducted in partnership with the JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research (JSS AHER), Mysuru, Karnataka, India and the Scientific Committee on Problems of the Environment (SCOPE), Amstelveen, the Netherlands, and will be held in Mysuru, India on March 14-15, 2023.

NASTEC is pleased to circulate this announcement by inviting the interested individuals to apply. Deadline for submission of applications to attend the Workshop is 01st February 2023. Application for participation in the program must be made only to the NAM S&T Centre (E-mail: namstcentre@gmail.com) (The Brochure and the application are attached) and endorsed by NASTEC. To receive the endorsement from NASTEC which is the focal point of NAM center, please send us your filled application and other relevant documents indicated below also with Annexure 01 (attached) to nastecnam@gmail.com on or before 27th January 2023. Please note that application should be certified by your Head of Institute (Please refer Annexure 01).

The following documents must be submitted as e-mail attachments as well as Annexure 01:

  1. Filled in Application Form (Blank form enclosed).
  2. Opinion (a short paragraph; in MS Word format) how you qualify to participate in the Workshop.
  3. A short CV in the attached Format (maximum two pages; in MS-Word format).
  4. An Extended Abstract (in MS-Word only) of the Paper that would be presented at the Workshop.
  5. Copy of the relevant pages of the passport.

Selection of applicants will be made based on their academic and professional background, and relevance of their current engagements in the relevant fields. The decision of NAM S&T Center will be the final. For more information, please refer the attached brochure.

In this regard, please note that since the training Workshop will be held in Physical mode, and as per the new guidelines of the Government of India, the following details of the participants are required for their visa clearance, at least 2 months before their arrival in India:

Therefore participants who wish to apply for above workshop are kindly requested to send the above mentioned details along with the copy of relevant pages of passport, latest by 29th December 2022 to nastecnam@gmail.com.

The application form and other necessary documents may be sent to NASTEC later by 27th January 2023 for endorsement.
